Hello Kitty Coloring
In my household using Hello Kitty coloring pages is one of my kids most cherished activities. I think this is great as it is so low cost and easy to keep them amused. Hello Kitty was created by designer Ikuko Shimizu in 1974 and her first appearance was later that year on a coin purse. Today her products are seen in sixty countries on earth and she is a cultural phenomenon.
This cute felines real actual name is Kitty White, which is something only the most dedicated fans know. Most fans do not even know that she is a twin with a sister is called Mimmy. You can only tell them apart by the color and location of their bows. Kittys is red and rests on the left hand side of her head. Mimmy likes a yellow bow and wears hers on her right.
Kitty resides in London, despite being a far eastern creation. Her home is a little white house with a red roof and she lives with both her parents. She attends classes where she can see her closest friend, a tiny mouse named Joey. And she has a little crush on a boy named Tippy although she is much too shy to talk at all about it.
The company that created her is called Sanrio and even though they have made over 400 characters it is only Kitty that has really made an impact. This is even more remarkable when you realise that Kitty has no mouth whatsover! It is said she does not need one as she speaks with her heart. I am not sure though, how she eats her mothers fantastic and delicious Apple Pie.
Kitty has not aged or grown in the many years since she arrived, but her popularity has steadily increased. Many famous superstars have been seen carrying her licensed products, such as spatulas, fax machines, perfume, bras, tea towels, dolls, eyelash curlers, t-shirts, movies and much, much more.
So she is a happy, positive and much-loved Hello Kitty that your kids will enjoy seeing on their coloring sheets. It is great to see that when your kids know the character so well they can then try to use the right colours to fill in the sheet. Your child will see benefits in many ways if using coloring sheets. Let me tell you about a few of them.
Here is a tip, why not ask your kid to make up a tale about what is happening in the scene and fire up their creativity. You will also find that little moments of praise from you can really all add up to a childs sense of self worth and confidence as they grow up. Coloring not only increases attention span, hand eye co ordination and the learning of colors, it is also a great chance for us adults to get some quiet time with our children.
While your kids work, help them pick up the correct names of things they are working on, like eyes, clouds, animals etc. Oh, and this is a easy way to teach colours to your kid.
My favourite bit about coloring in along with the youngsters is it is one of the few occassions the whole family can chill out and do something as a group. Why not make Saturday night a regular time for everyone to get together and color in? Make sure to show their finished efforts around the home and show off how proud you are of the kids. A great room to show off their pieces in would definitely be the den or even the bathroom. Be sure to get your little ones to autograph their work. All practise at signing their names is good!
