Review: Resident Evil 4 PS2
It was announced that the game was going to be exclusive for the GameCube, but a couple of months to a year later it found its way to the PlayStation 2. then it was released for the personal computer, then it came out for the Nintendo Wii. If you have never played the Resident Evil series then this game is the perfect place to start. The story continues with a former Raccoon City Police department officer called Leon S. Kennedy, he now has a job working for the president. The daughter of the president has been kidnapped, and you have to rescue her.
When he arrived at the location he then discovers that there is something seriously wrong with the local people. The people have been infected by a plague that makes them go insane. Most hardcore gamers are aware of Resident Evil 4"s awesomeness, but it its not to bad if you pick it up again.
Resident Evil 4 has superior game play in the whole series. The camera has now been greatly improved, if follows your character around so you can see everything from over his shoulder. The environments are awesome looking, and have details even in the smallest things. I am so impressed with its graphics i could compare it to early Xbox 360 games.
The loading times are fast, there are no frame rate issues, so the game wont be slowing down when facing multiple enemies. Resident Evil 4 on the Nintendo Wii is a completely different experience. I was a bit nervous about the controls. Just like most games paired up with the Wii have had controller issues, to my surprise the controls were perfect.
For running you use the nun chuck, and you gun is controlled by the Wii Remote. In Resident Evil the cut-scenes are completely interactive, for example you are in a boat that"s going under water, and then the game prompts you to press a certain button repeatedly to swim.
There are many weapons to choose from ranging from handguns, sniper rifles, assault rifles, grenades, rocket launchers, grenade launchers and sub-machine guns, but that"s not all. The weapons are all upgradable to be more powerful, faster and accurate. One of my favorite weapons in the game is the hand cannon (smith & Wesson M500) which can kill an enemy with one round.
Pros:
-Awesome game play
-story is great
-the graphics are cool
-long game
cons:
-the game might be too easy
-no zombies?
